Playful, curious, and wonderfully clever, Keshavi knows exactly how to quench her thirst on her own terms.
While she always has access to fresh water in the trough, you can imagine our delight the day we watched her stroll up to the water spigot, turn it on with confidence, and take a long, satisfied drink.
Cows are far more intelligent than many people realize. They remember the locations of food and water sources, recognize the faces of those they trust, and yes, they can absolutely figure out how to turn on a spigot when they’re thirsty. They form deep social bonds, communicate in nuanced ways, and navigate their world with a wisdom unique to cows.
Keshavi is a beautiful reminder of all of that.
